Tour Schedule – Meteora/Kalambaka

Meteora is a huge cluster of dark rocks of sandstone that rise out of Kalambaka, near the first hills of Pindos and Chassia. The monasteries of Meteora, which are built on top of some rocks, constitute after Mount Athos the largest and constant presence of asceticism in Greece. The six must-visit monasteries of Meteora have for their most part restored and preserved their frescoes. In 1989, Unesco included Meteora in the World Heritage List as a particularly important cultural and natural resource.
